Day 1 - Cley waders
With some time to kill this afternoon I decided to unleash the Olympus on the wading birds of Cley-next-the-sea.
A juvenile Greenshank provided great entertainment as it fed close to the path on New Carter's scrape. It was joined by a juvenile Ruff (unphotographed), Redshank and a very young Little Egret.
Further round from Bishop's Hide the Glossy Ibis showed well for a short time while a shower darkened the sky before moving off to Richardson Scrape and never returning.
A few photos from today then:
So my initial thoughts on the Olympus system:
Pros

So my initial thoughts on the Olympus system:
Pros
- Lightweight and superbly balanced to use with 300mm F4
- Easy to get sharp images
- Excellent focus accuracy and speed
- Very adjustable RAW files
- Exceptional image stabilisation
- Well thought out design
Cons
- ISO above 800 would not be useful to me due to noise *Personal preference*
- Menu system mind boggling if wanting to find and change a setting quickly
Overall a good start. As I said in my opening post the 4/3 system, like any system, has its compromises but its certainly off to a good start.
