Flight of fancy

In post one I spoke briefly about my frustrations with the Fuji system I was using. My biggest issue was the initial focus lock speed of the X-T2 and 100-400. I was having an utter nightmare getting the camera and lens to lock on to subjects quickly enough, especially small birds in flight.

One of my biggest apprehensions of using the Olympus system was my concern that this problem would repeat itself. On my way home this evening I stopped in Wells-next-the-sea to see what was in the harbour.

Along with the usual Gulls, Redshank and Wagtails were a couple of Little Egrets. I decided to give them a watch as they fished along the waters edge. This gave the perfect opportunity for some action shots and when they decided to relocate some flight shots as well.

I have to say I am very pleased with the results. The light was far from ideal and the focus system on the Olympus coped very well with the tough conditions.

A few results below. Another test passed for the Oly.
